Curriculum llot llov
One night in the year 2004 we found each other. Four Berliners on their way to the next club, sharing a taxi, brought together by pure chance. In the beginning we just talked about the music that connected us but soon the conversation was about our shared philosophy of life and work. Next to a friendship we soon shared an office and workspace together, in which each of us worked on their own projects. In 2007 we decided to join forces and pool our resources and our passion for our work: llot llov was born.
The Name
llot llov is voll toll backwards – voll toll is German for absolutely amazing. The name stems from a conversation with a colleague who fluently talks backwards. In a context of mutual appreciation „llot llov“ came up – a name was found. Even if the meaning of llot llov is not obvious it always seems to convey “lot’s of love”. And that is what we communicate through our work – whether through our products, interiors, concepts or installations.
The Designers
Jacob Brinck is a product, furniture and graphics designer. His strength lies with conceptual works, computer based designs and his remarkable stamina. Jacob likes to shape things, loves ‘Elstar’ apples and always forgets to close the door behind him.
Lena Hirche’s job is the strategic design and the empiric research. Her talent is finding new trends, their analysis and implementation. Lena is very accurate and likes to double check. Twice. She never misses anything. Her apartment has an amazing view.
Ania Bauer works as interior, product and surface designer. Her arty work approach is combined with process-oriented work, organisational skills and enthusiasm. Sometimes Ania has to wear high heels. The angle is better for her back.
Ramon Toshiro Merker is a trained carpenter and interior designer. His craftsmanship and patience support his performance-oriented work ethics. Whether it’s constructively questioning the product or his past experience with construction projects, Ramon knows what he is talking about. He is nicknamed ‘the dear’ because he is so delicately skilled and even keeps his balance standing on the ladder with one food while working with an electric screwdriver.
The Philosophy
llot llov designs are functional and emotional at the same time. “We look at things from every angle and perspective and analogically implement the multi-dimensional perception we get in our designs. We do not avoid things that don’t seem to make sense at first or that are not obvious to the viewer. “
The name llot llov may be seen as a metaphor for our way to work. A once a meaningful expression (voll toll) gains new and positive meaning when looked at closely. We view and alter our surroundings illogically, intuitively and creatively.
We always follow the general principles of substance, benefit, clarity and sustainability
