Gabriele Koch

Born in 1963 in Hagen, Germany, Gabriele Koch initially
trained in Language Studies in France before attending Law
School in Bochum, graduating in 1987. In 1991 her career
changed direction when she began studying dressmaking.
By 1994 she had completed her final examinations at the
Fashion School Schloß Eller Düsseldorf, and was presented
with the Fashion Future Award and the Young Design Fashion
Award. Koch subsequently worked as a freelance fashion designer
and in 1995 was admitted to the Kreativhaus Düsseldorf
IGEDO. In the same year she won the Fashion Design prize
Northrhine Westphalia. From 1996-2002 she was engaged
in costume design for various dance productions in Cologne.
During this time she took part at the International
Fashion Design Award Berlin Brandenburg (1997) and won
the Cologne Dance Prize (1999). In 2006 she established
her own label L Gabriele Koch.
