In 2000 MaÅgorzata Ratajczak graduated from the Faculty of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. She is also a graduate of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan. She conceived, organised and developed the
"Viva LED" exhibitions, for which she was declared 'Leader of Innovation for 2008' in the 'Cultural Innovative Project' category. She writes articles about lighting, design and interior architecture  for magazines, such as "Architekturaâ and "Åwiat Mebliâ. And as the Emandes duet, together with Sebastian Szlabs, she has specialised in diode lighting, creating emotive lamps and sculptures as well as diode installations, especially for modern spaces.
Sebastian Szlabs is the light designer. He graduated with a Diploma in Painting from the Academy of Visual Arts in 2000. From 2004 he has developed the talented Emandes duet with MaÅgorzata Ratajczak, with whom he won 3rd prize in 2006 in the Luce lighting competition in Movimento, Italy for the Dynamic Lamps category. They have created the copyrighted collection of diode lamps under the Emandes marque. They were awarded the title of Leader of Innovation for 2008 in the 'Innovative Company in Wielkopolska' category. Their creations are characteristic for their hand crafted, fine drawings cut directly on glass and the technologically advanced electronic controls. They participated together in many exhibitions and fairs.

Philosophy: combining passion with new technology.
Searching for new meaning in light.
We make glowing sculptures, emotive lamps and LED objects. We are accomplished at using optical glass, embossed with hand carved etchings and patterns. Our lamps are equipped with the latest technology, which we manipulate easily and LED's are an integral part of our lighting designs. We often make no effort to conceal any of the electronic components, instead, through clever design, we make these parts an interesting design feature. We are very passionate about our art and we really enjoy playing with all sorts of technologies when creating our unique interior pieces. We have developed a system for integrating individually tailored control systems in our LED Lamps to reflect the desires of our clients. Latest technologies are our passion and we are constantly searching for new innovations and inventions, in fact we already look forward to all the unimaginable advances we will uncover in years to come.
