Caramel – Guenter Katherl (*1965, Vöcklabruck, Upper Austria), Martin Haller (*1966, Mittelberg, Vorarlberg) and Ulrich Aspetsberger (*1967, Linz, Upper Austria) – have been working together since 2000 and with the help of their team have already completed a number of building projects of varying dimensions.
Their most recent commissions have resulted from their continual and successful participation in national and international competitions. In addition to the realization of the large-scale projects – like the Science Park Johannes Kepler University Linz (Upper Austria), office and Central Garage Ansfelden (Upper Austria), MA48 Vienna (office and garage building), WIFI-Dornbirn (advanced training center), transfusion medicine Salzburg (hospital) and finally a school building in Krems – the trio also devotes itself in particular to design studies and unconventional single-family dwelling projects.
A new challenge every time – each project is a new challenge – this is the motto at Caramel architects.
Caramel’s lecture series, such as a remote-controlled rain cloud with which caramel provided a “cool” surprise on the fairgrounds at the architecture Biennale in Venice 2004, courses, and art projects are the salt in the soup of everyday architectural life.
